Proper alignment means, the clubface is aimed toward the intended target, and the body flow lines formed by the shoulders, hips, legs and feet, should be parallel to the target. (Called a parallel left alignment)
Points to remember:
Always start the alignment process from behind the ball
Pick a spot in front of the ball about 3-feet away
Aim the club head-first
Align the body parallel-second
Always lay down two clubs to form a parallel teaching aid
Correct posture allows the golf club to swing around the body, so that the shoulders, hips, arms and hands are able to move freely and efficiently to maximize club head speed. With bad posture, bad golf swings result! Great posture will give you great balance!
Points to remember:
Bend 3 inches from the knees
Bend from the waist (make sure the football fits)
Make sure the back and neck stay in line
Maintain the same posture at
1) Set-up
2) During the Back swing
3) Through the ball at impact
The back swing is the product of having a good golf grip, proper parallal alignment and great posture. The back swing is built around a great shoulder turn and a short back swing.
!
A Great Back Swing Includes:
1) Turning the shoulders 90 degrees (back to the target)
2) Hip only turns 25 degrees
3) Weight stays on the inside of the right foot (no swaying laterally)
4) Don't move legs laterally (don't bump the shaft stuck in the ground)
5) Swing only to ten (10) on a clock with the left arm (short back swing)
6) Use the tee, shaft or pencil drill so golf shaft is swung in a circle
(plane) that points towards the golf ball.
